Vines are over 100 years old and the state is divided in “Leiros”, that are small plots throughout El Bierzo, planted on slopes over 25%. Altitude iis between 650 and 750 metres. These vineyards probably have the biggest area of pre-phylloxera vines in El Bierzo region.
Harvest by hand. Traditionally, the Leiros were only harvested by members of the family. Nowadays, the first grape selection is carried out by the same persons. Aging for 20 months in french oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Dark fruits aroma, sweet, mineral fragrances resembling slate and toasted scents such as vanilla and chocolate. Full-bodied, round and excellent balance.
